29Dec2012 Update!

alright another week down and some activity. last week I had one in grace period... now I have two more and that one is now 16-30 days late. no fret tho I am riding it out and just figure its because of the holiday season. but the rest are still going strong. Still chugging away at the moneys that are waiting to invest. every couple of days one or two go through while one or two don't and I'm left to reinvest it. No biggie I was expecting that. $2100 at the end of this year is really good considering I was shooting for $2000 and didn't think I would get there. So a look at next year.... I want to invest $5000 more into this. thats approx $416 a month. HOLY MOLY! I hope I can achieve that...maybe a lot of overtime or maybe with paying off bills I can achieve this goal. I hope I hope.

still sticking close to 22%... loving it!

looking at over $50 a month..that's awesome!!

here's the pie chart again.

the money break down

so that's it for this month... I don't have a ton to say...so here's just the visual facts. happy lending everyone!!

22Dec2012 update

well it's that time again. The world didn't end so on with investing!!

so last week all my money was in review for notes I invested in. It will take a while for those to go through and some didn't and  some wont go through (I expect this) . So I just reinvest into other notes as this happens. so far so good. I continues getting $1-$3 a day in payments and interest. (this makes me happy so what). I was thinking today and how awesome would it be to get $25 a day to reinvest. That's a lot of money to put in to be able to get to that point. One day tho...One day.

OK! onto the screenshots

Looking good. Just have over $2100 and rising. still 22% strong. I still have a lot of money in review. Can't wait for it to go through and I can start making money off of it.

My different Categories and the monthly payments expected from them.

here's a shot of my one note in grace period. Nothing to worry about. This happened on other time and they caught up. Even if I do loose this one I'll only lose just under $25. No Biggie.

So there you have it! this weeks exciting update!! I am excited for the Notes to go through and for the new year to start. Not excited about trying to figure out taxes lol. I gotta think of a reasonable for next year. I want to add an additional $5000 but I'm not sure if that's reasonable. Alrighty! happy lending.

15DEC2012 update!!

Alright! so a lot has happened since the last update. I decided to jump in and just hit my goal of $2000 by the end of the year by adding $525. Which I did my math wrong and it actually gave me $2100. Oh well. So I am actually at the point where between payments and interest I should be getting $50 a month. Meaning two new notes a month just from reinvesting. So far no problems. everyone is paying and I am still making money. Next year I am hoping on adding $5000 to the pot. I am going crazy and decided to just invest in a bunch of high risk loans. But I try to make sure I go for low borrowing amounts. I don't even like doing anything in the 20k region but sometimes I will. I definitely stay away from people asking for the max amount of 35k. so yah here's the screenshots for today

here's the main page. Still at a strong 22%. Its nice receiving about $2 a day from payments.

My portfolio. Its looking pretty good. once I get a little more in the high risk I am gonna start branching out into other risk areas and spread things out.
The Pie chart page with the lower section just below. things are looking good

Thanks for following. I'm excited to see how this all pans out.

8DEC2012 update

It's Saturday again and my second update. I'm on a roll. So I made some changes since a week ago. I added an extra $150 to invest in. I was gonna hold off on trying to reach my $2000 mark for the year but decided I'm close enough already why not just go for it. So I added an extra $525 into my account. That probably wont be ready to invest till Tuesday. Things are looking good. Still no problem accounts. I am ranging roughly $2 a day from principal payments and interest. Every $25 I gain I reinvest. Buttttt the end of the year is coming. Which means tax season. I've been reading that it's a little bit of a pain to do taxes when you only invest in $25 notes and you get so little interest a month per note. Apparently lending club only gives out tax forms for investments that make at least $10 a month in interest. So I'm gonna have to do some research and math. anywaysss heres some updated pics

My front page that shows all the good stuff. Everything is looking pretty good.
here's a pie chart with the info. nice...everyone likes pie charts right?
a break down words and numbers.

My portfolio showing my 4 different categories I've invested in.

So yes that's it for this week. so until next week. happy lending. I might try to post another blog later this week on taxes ...we'll see how bored I get. LATER!

01DEC2012 First Update! BOOOM

So this is a little late to be starting but better late than never! I started my Lending Club account back in July of 2012 I believe. Im sure I can look it up but I wont.

*So for those of you who don't know what Lending Club is (or prosper is the other well known one) its a people to people lending site. Instead of people going to a big bank wanting a loan and maybe getting denied for something silly and/or getting a huge interest rate you go here and people invest in your loan. So instead you have a big group of people investing in your loan (wait kinda like a bank except the bank gets all the royalties).

*Depending on you credit history (all personal information is kept from potential investor and actual investors) you get a grade from A to G..A being the best out there but the lowest interested rate (meaning less return for investors) and G being the bottom of the totem pole out there which has a larger interest rate (bigger return for investor but also more riskier because these tend to default more..or so people believe).

*You can request a loan between 1000 and 35000 and invest in people for as little as $25.

*The website states they screen all loans and deny a lot of requests. But even then you get a decent amount of defaults (just like a bank would).

*like a bank if someone goes bankrupt you lose your money.

*if someone is late and gets a $40 fee (I believe that's the fee)  than lending club takes out their 1% and the investors get the rest.

alright enough about that..any more questions you guys can visit Lending Club and read up on it. Clicking on the link will open a new window so you wont lose this site. :-P

Alright now onto my story. I heard about these sites years ago and never really thought about it. Then last summer I was looking for other ways to invest my money. Actually for a long time I thought it would be a cool idea to have a large group of people invest in each other (but with my idea it would be a group of people who know each other investing in each other interest free but just doing so to get each other out of debt). anyways so I get across this site during my search and it caught my attention. I did a lot of research on it and the ratio of good to bad reviews were 10:1. I was shocked how many good things I read about the site in comparison to the bad. So I thought what the heck I'll give it a shot. Now there is a lot of strategies people put out the get the most out of your money. I for right now don't follow any of these. I wanted to just jump in and get crazy. I don't filter out different people or research as much as I probably should and I don't recommend doing what I do. lol. I wanted to jump into the high risk loans and see what I can accomplish with that. My Goal for this year was $2000 invested and if it went well then $5000 more next year.  I am glad to say so far I have no defaults/charge offs. I had one that was a few weeks late but paid before the grace period ended. I just invest the minimum of $25 for now. I didn't want to invest more and have someone default and I lose a bunch of money. I figured I wouldn't cry too much if I lost $25 here and there. I am glad to say things are good. You'll see in the pictures below but no one has defaulted. Everyone has paid and two have fully paid off (I am assuming they found a better interest rate). OK now onto the pictures...i like pictures personally...words can be boring.

The picture to the right is my home page and pretty much shows everything as of Dec 1st. In payments I roughly get a dollar a day. (I'm trying to make it so I get a total of $50 a month so I can reinvest twice a month). My net return is a whopping 22.41%! where else can you get that?!?! But that I'm sure will go down a bit with less riskier investments and people defaulting. As much as I don't want defaults I must learn to expect them.

The picture to the left is my portfolio. I have my investments right now broken up into actually six categories but I have only invested in four. I have its split up into high, medium, and low risk and from those I have them separated into 36 month and 60 month loans. then as you can see it tells you your expected monthly payments from each of the categories.
Here is a look at some of the Notes I invest in. Most are high risk and I invest some in the low risk. This site give you a ton of information letting you know if they are current, late, new loan, interest gained everyday, and just about anything you wanted to know.

I'm gonna try to do an update with pictures every week. (Saturday morning) We'll see how long that lasts lol. Maybe I'll post helpful pages and reviews and what not. Maybe I'll rule the world. Who knows. Have any comments or questions or helpful tips feel free to shoot them my way.
